Ⅰ. General Principles

       To hold a fair, open, and just composition competition; to foster young composers; to promote the creation of symphonic works; to enhance international cultural exchanges and therefore to extend the global vision of China’s music.

       2013 Beijing Modern Symphony Composition Grand Prix is also the 4th Young Composers Project which is scheduled to start at June 2012 and end in May 2013 with the duration of one year. There is no restriction for the nationalities of Composers. But it is required that the age should be under 40 (Born after May 25, 1973).

       The first round will be judged through reading scores, and the final round will be judged through live performance. The judging panel consists of prestigious composers in today’s world, and its judging results will be the irreversible final decision for the composition competition.

       The Organization Committee is in charge of the whole competition activity and the Grand Prix.

Ⅲ. Award

  1. Award Name: Beijing Modern Grand Prix
  2. There will be six submitted works selected for performance and finally one work to win the Grand Prix.
  3. The composers of the six selected works will be provided with round trip air tickets (economic class) or train tickets, accommodation in Beijing, and all the concert tickets of 2013 Beijing Modern Music Festival.
  4. Money award of the final winner: RMB100,000 (Before tax)
