Xiaogang YE


Regarded as one of the most leading and influential composers in China, Xiaogang YE is also a standing member of the National People's Political Consultative Conference, Vice President of the Central Conservatory of Music, the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association, and Artistic Director of Beijing Modern Music Festival. He graduated from the Composition Department of the Central Conservatory of Music in 1983, and then further studied at Eastman School of Music in the United States. His tutors include DU Mingxin, Alexander Goehr and Joseph Schwantner. Xiaogang YE is a representative of Chinese contemporary music, and has made ??an outstanding contribution to the development of China’s contemporary music. He has received a number of commissions for national and international works, won such national and international awards as the Golden Bell Award, Louis Lane Prize, and he was also the judge for major events. Since 1995, his musical works have been published by Schott Music International, GmbH in Germany. His masterpieces include: The Last Paradise, Horizon, Symphony No.3(Chu), Nine Horses, Namucuo, Springs in the Forest, Yangzhuoyong Cuo, and dance dramas like Shenzhen Story, Macao Bridge, and operaSong of Farewell, etc. His widespread impact on film music made him receive two times the highest honor of the Chinese film music "Golden Rooster” Award.


QIN Wenchen


Wenchen Qin is one of the leading Chinese composers of his generation. As one among the young generation of leading composers, Wenchen Qin has written many pieces covering chamber music, symphonies, folk music and those for movies/TV, including musics for orchestra YI YUN (1991), YIN JI (2001) and SYMPHONIC PRELUDE (1994), orchestral symphony DRUMMING IN THE COLD (1996), chamber musics HE YI (1998-1999), IN PRAISE OF THE MOON (1993) and LONELY SONG II (1990), and more, for which Qin won multiple prizes at seven international composition competing events.  Qin’s major works also include: music for double string orchestra and percussion instrument group LONELY SONG I (1990), group musics SHADOW OF THE SUN (1987-), suonaconcerto CALLING FOR PHOENIX (1996) and orchestral music HOLY ROAD IN MAY (2004), etc.
